9 signs prove that your dog is happy

"How can I tell that my loved dog is doing well?". "How do I know that I am doing everything right in dealing with my dog and that he has a nice life with me that makes him happy all around?". These are questions that many dog owners ask themselves.

The probability that your canine buddy is happy is particularly high when he is busy. You can achieve this by, among other things, spending a lot of time with him, for example, by devoting a large part of the day to playing together. Also - we cannot emphasize this often enough - high-quality food from the specialized trade is decisive for keeping him physically and mentally healthy and thus for his positive mood. Final information about the satisfaction of your beloved four-legged friend gives ultimately only the hormone picture.

Since all dogs are descended from the wolf, all canine quadrupeds have a very similar type of language. The dog communicates through body language and sounds. All dogs - no matter if they have a short or long muzzle, a short or long tail -, express themselves in the same way. However, it should be noted that some breeds of dogs, due to their bred, degenerate appearance, including the docked tail, may not be properly understood by other conspecifics.

By the way, the dog first learned to smile from humans. Among wolves, it is even considered a sign of aggression to bare the teeth. However, today's dogs have adapted to their masters and mistresses to such an extent that they also sometimes use showing their teeth as a greeting signal.

We will show you a few of the unmistakable signs that can tell you a lot about whether your dog is happy with you and with his life.

1) The tail swings

When the dog is happy, its tail swings from left to right, describing approximately a 120-degree angle. In dogs with short or docked tails or curled tails, the root of the tail is particularly telling. In canine colleagues that have short tails, the entire rear end often moves powerfully when wagging.

2) Pupils are open

By dilated pupils, you can recognize that your dog is just happy about something. Similar to humans, whose pupils dilate when they see something beautiful. Of course, the overall appearance of the eyes is crucial: if Bello's eyes shine and look lively, you can be quite sure: your sweetheart is doing well.

3) Tail wagging.

Generally, a slightly prancing gait, relaxed tail position, and normally erect ears are indicators that your dog is experiencing inner happiness. Sometimes our canine counterparts express their happiness by black wagging around their loved ones, usually tail wagging.

4) Boisterous behavior

You can also tell that your friend on four paws is having fun by his exuberant behavior, such as jumping around, running in circles, making short barking sounds, and the like.

5) He asks you to play

If your beloved dog is doing well, he will also show you that by asking you to play. For example, the dog does this by briefly hopping in the air with his front legs placed parallel. Be sure to get infected by his silliness and romp around together. Because this increases the fun on both sides.

Please note, however, that the final invitation to play should come from you as the higher-ranked.
you should be the one with the higher rank.

6) He focuses on you and the task.

If you keep your dog busy in a species-appropriate way so that he is always nicely occupied, he shows his joy in playing together - and in the moment itself - by concentrating on his human roommate and the task he has to accomplish. This is pure situational joy.

7) He is a cuddler

The dog also naturally shows joy when he goes to his human to cuddle with him.

8) He seeks the proximity of his master or mistress.

It stands to reason: seeking closeness is a sign that he is happy with you. He will show you this by coming to you regularly or even just lying quietly next to you. Lying next to you in a quiet or sleeping state is a sure sign that he is doing well with you.

9) He gives you his paw

This gesture can also have a demanding component. The dog may be begging or appeasing by pawing. But it can also generally express that he is happy to be with you.

We wish you and your canine buddy to have a lot of fun together. Always be aware that it also rubs off positively on you when Bello is doing well. Because hardly any joy has such a contagious effect as that of your beloved dog.
