How many hours a day does a Golden Retriever sleep?

How many hours end up being sleep depends a lot on the age and health of the four-legged friend.

Puppies don't do much besides sleep and nurse. That's why they can easily get up to 22 hours of sleep in the first few weeks of life.

It is similar to old dogs. Their need for rest is often increased and they also spend a large part of the day resting, dozing, and sleeping. For up to 20 hours. It is not much different with sick four-legged friends.

But even an adult and healthy quadruped still bring it to about 18 hours. Of course, the retriever does not sleep the entire time, but just dozes and lies down a lot. They sleep for about 6-8 hours, but this time is not necessarily slept in one piece.

By the way, your dog's senses are constantly on alert while resting. He will immediately notice if a visitor arrives or if his master is preparing something delicious in the kitchen.
